Eugene W. Wilson II was born on Aug. 17, 1980 in Maywood, Illinois. Attended Merrillville High School. He was two-time all-state selection and Defensive Player of the Year. In Highschool he played cornerback, running back and wide receiver, earning three letters in football and four in basketball. Eugene went to Illinois University where he was a three-year starter. He ranks sixth on Illinois all-time interception list with 11. He beat the record of pass deflections with 60 as the old record had 26. As a senior he was named the Fighting Illini Special Teams Player of the Year. Eugene Wilson was drafted by the New England Patriots in the second round (36th overall) of the 2003 NFL draft.
