Michael George Vrabel was born on August 14, 1975 in Akron, Ohio. He attended Walsh Jesuit High School in Stowe, Ohio. He earned Ohio player of the year in two different categories. He was team captain. Mike went to Ohio State University where he set records with 36 quarterback sacks and 66 tackles for losses. Vrabel was named first-team All-Big Ten Conference and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year for second-straight season(Junior & Senior). Mike was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round (91st overall) of the 1997 NFL draft. He was signed by the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent on March 16, 2001. Vrabel has caught 6 passes all for touchdowns from Tom Brady on offense. He is used only in the red zone. He caught one in the Patriots 2nd Super Bowl in 2003 and one in their 3rd in 2004. He was the first defensive player to catch and offensive touchdown in the Superbowl.
