Richard Vershaun Seymour was born on October 6th, 1979 in Dadsden South Carolina to Richard and Deborah Seymour. Attended Lower Richland South Carolina High School. First-team all-region and all-area selection as a twoway lineman. Led his varsity team with 83 tackles and eight sacks as a senior. He was the team captain and best defensive lineman on their team. He went to Georgia University where he played in 41 games for the Bulldogs. Named SEC player of the week in his college career. Seymour was drafted by the Patriots in the first round (6th overall) of the 2001 NFL draft. The patriots couldn't decide between Seymour or David Terrel(WR). They picked Seymour and he has gone to 3 Pro bowls in his 4 year career while they other guy, you hear barely anything of him.
