Daniel Graham was born on November 16, 1978 in Torrance, California. His father Tom played at Oregon where he still holds the record for career tackles. He also played for the Denver Broncos from 1972 to 1974. His whole family was into football as his brother Josh played at North Carolina and his other brother played at Colorado State. Daniel lettered three times in basketball. He was the schools's recipient of the Junior Class Academic Award. Graham went to Colorado State where he was the country's top tight end. He replaced Tom Ashworth as a tight end and Ashworth then moved to guard. Both Graham and Ashworth are on the Patriots while Graham is the starting tight end and Ashworth is the starting tackled. Daniel finished his college career with 106 receptions for 1,543 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a senior he led all tight ends in the nation with 753 yards and 6 touchdowns. Daniel Graham was drafted by the Patriots in the first round (21st overall) of the 2002 NFL draft. Graham tied a Patriots record by catching a touchdown pass in five consecutive regular-season games. In Superbowl Graham tied a Patriots record by catching a touchdown pass in five consecutive regular-season games. In Superbowl XXXVIII he had receptions for 46 yards and set up a patriots touchdown after he was tackled on the one yard line on a 33 yard pass. Against the Atlanta Falcons in 2005 Graham caught 5 passes for 119 yards and a 45 yard touchdown pass. Daniel Graham has been a huge part in the patriots success.
