Rosevelt Colvin III was born on September 5th, 1977 in Indianapolis. Attended Broad Ripple High School. He was first team all state and named indianapolis defensive Player-of-the-Year as a senior. He set a high school record with 219 tackles and 126 solos senior year. He also played basketball in high school. Colvin went to Purdue where he was a three year starter for them. He ranked second in Purdue history with 61 tackles for loss and 272 yards in losses. He led the team and set Purdue's single-season record with 15 sacks in his senior year. Rosevelt Colvin was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 1999 NFL draft. He was signed by the Patriots on March 11th, 2003 as an unrestricted free agent. In 2003 Colvin started the first two games of the season at outside linebacker for the Patriots. He recorded two sacks in two games. With only starting in 39 of 74 games Rosevelt has 254 career tackles, 33 sacks, eight forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. Rosevelt was selected by his teammates to receive the Patriots Ed Block Courage Award in 2004 after a rigorous 10-month recovery period from a hip injury in 2003.
