Troy Fitzgerald Brown was born on July 2, 1971 in Barnwell, South Carolina. He attended Blackville-Hilda High where he lettered in football and track. He played on their state championship team, which finished 14-1 in 1988. Went to Marshall University where he was considered the most dangerous scoring threat in all I-AA football during his junior and senior year in 1991-1992. He averaged a touchdown every eight times he touched the ball. Troy tied the NCAA record for the most touchdowns on kick returns in a single season with four. Troy Brown was selected by the Patriots in the eighth round of the 1993 NFL draft (198th overall). In the 2004 season the Patriots lost many defensive backs. Troy filled in on Cornerback for the last 9 games of the season and the 3 postseason games. He led the team with 3 interceptions. In the 2005 season the patriots are hurting on defensive backs agian and Troy has stepped up and filled in those spots. Brown is also a kickoff and punt return man. When Troy Brown retires he wants to become a coach.
