Deion Branch was born on July 18, 1979 in Albany, Georgia. His real name was Anthony. He lettered in football and track at Monroe High in Albany. He also played soccer. He attended Louisville University and majored in Communications. His 143 catches rank sixth on the school�s career-record list and his 2,204 yards are second on the record list. In 2000 he was all-Conference USA first-team choice and also voted Most Valuable Player and Outstanding Offensive Performer for the Cardinals. Deion Branch was drafted by the Patriots in the second round (65th overall) of the 2002 NFL draft. He signed with the patriots on July 23 2002. Deion was the MVP of his soccer team in high school and still remains a soccer fan. Branch was part of the patriots last 2 superbowls. In Super Bowl XXXIX in 2004 he was named MVP. He tied a Superbowl record with 11 catches and he also had 133 yards receiving.
